Observatory where you can experience stargazing under the skies of Shima
Aqua Forest's "Tenmonkan" allows you to experience observing the Shima starry sky with a full-scale 50cm diameter telescope. Guests staying at the hotel can use it free of charge. Everyone from children to adults can enjoy this fantastical world.

- As this is an outdoor facility, we recommend dressing warmly in winter and using insect repellent in summer.

Astrophotography
Moon craters
The surface of the moon, 380,000 km above Earth, looks so close that you can almost reach out and touch it. It can be observed for about two weeks each month until the full moon.
Saturn's Rings
The popular Saturn. Saturn with its rings visible is very cute and moving.
Jupiter's Stripes
It is visible from summer until late January, and you can enjoy the changing arrangement of moons and stripes every day.
Venus
It can usually be observed as the evening star from around autumn until the following spring. It waxes and wanes like the moon.
Sirius
You can enjoy the blue-white glow of Sirius, the king of stars that shines the brightest light in the sky.
Observations will take place from around January to early April.
Jupiter and its moons
Discovered by Galileo 400 years ago, the four moons known as the Galilean moons can be observed changing their arrangement every day.
Observations will take place from autumn until late January.
