The allure of French wine: Discovering the unique characteristics of each region (Part 1)

The appeal of French wine lies in the diverse flavors that arise from the different climates and soils of each region.
One of the unique characteristics of French wine is that even with the same grape variety, the characteristics of the wine can change dramatically depending on the region where it is grown.
This time, we will introduce some of France's leading wine-producing regions in three parts.
While learning about the unique characteristics of each region, we encourage you to find your favorite cup of coffee.

Languedoc-Roussillon region

[Main varieties]
White: Chardonnay/Sauvignon Blanc
Red: Grenache/Carignan/Cinsault/Syrah/Mourvèdre

This is one of France's largest wine-producing regions. In recent years, it has attracted attention worldwide due to its high quality and excellent value for money. The white wines are characterized by rich fruit flavors and a moderate body, while the red wines are known for their aromas of ripe fruit and hints of spice.

Côtes du Rhône

[Main varieties]
Syrah/Grenache/Mourvèdre

The northern region produces powerful red wines primarily from Syrah grapes, while the southern region produces fruity red wines through blending.

Provence

[Main varieties]
Grenache/Cinsault/Syrah

One of the world's leading rosé wine producing regions. Its refreshing and delicate flavor pairs well with seafood dishes and appetizers.

From September to November, we offer white and red wines from the Languedoc-Roussillon region.
Please enjoy the rich fruitiness and approachable taste that are characteristic of Southern France.
