World Heritage Shimogamo Shrine
One of Kyoto's most famous ancient shrines, which also appears in the "Shoku Nihongi."
Its official name is Kamo Mioya Shrine. The grounds are lined with shrine buildings reminiscent of the Heian period, including the main hall and tower gate, which are national treasures, and the entire Tadasu-no-Mori forest is registered as a World Heritage Site.
