Our ryokan is located halfway up the Wakakusayama Driveway and is accessible only by car. It cannot be reached on foot or by public transportation, so please use a private vehicle or the shuttle bus.

Pick-Up Service from Kintetsu Nara Station/JR Nara Station

The shuttle bus departs and arrives from the Mikasa Ryokan Information Center in front of Kintetsu Nara Station.
(Advance reservations are required for departures from JR Nara Station)

  • Exit the west ticket gate at Kintetsu Nara Station and go up to ground level via Exit 5 on your right.
  • Once you exit the station and cross at the traffic light, you will see Mikasa Ryokan Service Counter directly ahead.

*Information about escalators and elevators

  • Exit the east ticket gate of Kintetsu Nara Station and go up to ground level via Exit 3 on your right.
  • Once you exit, you will find the information desk across the street.

<Before check-in> If you leave your luggage after 10:00am, our staff will bring it to the hotel.
You can enjoy sightseeing and take the shuttle bus without returning to the station.

<After check-out> If you leave it at the front desk, we will deliver it to the information desk.
We can store your luggage at the information center until 6:00 PM, so you can enjoy sightseeing in Nara empty-handed.

  3. Continue straight for a while and turn right at the "Yakimonmae" intersection.

  4. Turn onto a slightly narrow road and go straight for a while.

  5. Before reaching the pond, turn left at the three-way fork, and continue along the road.

  6. Enter Nara Okuyama Driveway.
    One round trip between the Nara Okuyama Driveway toll booth and Nara Manyo Wakakusa no Yado MIKASA is complimentary. Please inform the staff at the driveway toll booth that you will be staying overnight. The ticket will be handed over to you at the front desk when you leave.
    MIKASA will come into view in 4 to 5 minutes from the toll gate.
    *The usage of the Nara Okuyama Driveway will change from March 1, 2026.
    If you are coming by car, please take a pass at the automatic gate at the driveway entrance and bring it to the front desk.
    One round-trip toll will be provided free of charge.
    The Shin-Wakakusayama Course is open all year round from 5:00 to 23:00 (exit gate closes at 1:00).
