Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel Initiatives
Providing tourism that enriches people and the planet
Conducting local community contribution activities (local cleanup)
As part of its efforts to support the development of the local community, Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel continues to carry out cleanup activities around Abeno Harukas, where the hotel is located.
Contributing to the realization of a decarbonized, recycling-oriented society
Initiatives towards renewable agricultural cycles
Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel supports regenerative agriculture by mixing citrus peels that would otherwise be wasted during cooking into compost and spreading it on the fields. The produce from the fields is used in the dishes served in the restaurant.
Obtaining JGAP certification
At Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel, some of the agricultural products used in the dishes served at its restaurants are produced at farms certified under JGAP, a certification system created for Japanese agriculture and a standard used by farms and producer groups working towards sustainable agricultural and livestock production.
Use of reusable materials (FSC®️ certified products)
Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel will be using FSC-certified placemats at its Live Kitchen COOKA from March 2022. FSC certification is a system that delivers products from properly managed forests that are in line with environmental, social, and economic benefits to consumers in a visible form, thereby indirectly returning economic benefits to producers.
