Notice
Welcome to Nara Kasugaokuyama Tsukihitei.
It has been protected as a sacred area of Kasuga Shrine since ancient times,
and the "Kasuga Primeval Forest" is also registered as a World Heritage Site.
Our restaurant quietly stands amidst this beautiful environment.
It was built in 1903 as a guesthouse for the Governor of Nara Prefecture to host important guests.
Enjoy authentic Kaiseki cuisine that skillfully utilizes seasonal ingredients while admiring the colorful scenery created by the four seasons.
There is a rock known as "Tsukihi no Iwa" in the Yoshiki River that flows beneath Tsukihi-tei. During the Tenpyo Era, an ice pond was created by the Mizutani River upstream of the Yoshiki River. Ice was stored in an icehouse near this rock and presented to the Imperial Court in summer. Kasuga Okuyama Tsukihi-tei was named after this historical site.
All rooms have large windows from which you can enjoy the ever-changing scenery of Kasugayama primeval forest. Please relax and enjoy the sounds of the birds and the murmuring of the river in the silence.
There are two private baths: "Wakakusa," featuring impressive leaf tiles, and "Okuyama," entirely constructed from Japanese cypress.
Enjoy authentic Kaiseki cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere. We carefully select seasonal ingredients and prepare each dish carefully and skillfully, with our guests in mind.
Limited to one couple per day. The location, which changes with the seasons, will welcome the couple, their relatives, and guests.
Please use it for various occasions such as family celebrations such as engagement ceremonies and shrine visits, and important business entertainment.
Although it is about a 10-minute drive from JR Kintetsu Nara station, you can still enjoy a quiet and relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
